Prayer For The Nation

Prayer For The Nation

Almighty God, you have given us this great land as our heritage. We humbly pray that we may always remember your generosity and faithfully do your will. Bless our land with honest industry, truthful education and an honorable way of life. Defend our liberties and strengthen the resolve of the people who have come from throughout the world to make America their home. Lead us to choose the harder right instead of the easier wrong. Help us to appreciate the opportunities that are ours as we struggle to bring harmony to an unsettled world. May we balance our concern for justice with a willingness to display mercy, and may our concern for security be tempered with a willingness to take risks which will produce worthwhile change for the good of all people. O Lord, we pray for your guidance as we work together for the best interest of our communities, our nation, our world, and the ultimate goal of peace. When times are prosperous, let our hearts be thankful and in troubled times may our deepest trust be in you.  Amen.**

Our heavenly Father, we bow before you as the one perfect source of all wisdom, goodness and mercy. Teach us to be wise in ways that exalt truth, fidelity and honor. Instill within us a passion for human service and an ambition to contribute to the greater good of our nation. May right and justice ever be cornerstones of our free society. Bless our country and continue to strengthen us with the ideals of her founders.  Amen.**

We are thankful for the lives, the skills and the accomplishments of our founding fathers. We are grateful for our national heritage, for the valor of our heroes, the devotion of patriots, and the freedom of religious expression. Remind us again that the price of freedom is never cheap, that vigilance must be our motto, that sacrifice and devotion to duty is our calling. Increase our love for our country that we may guard it as a trust. May we be strong and steadfast in our devotion to freedom, determined in our intolerance of evil, and committed in our dedication to justice and the pursuit of peace.  Amen.**

O Lord, we pray for America, thanking you for our forefathers whom you mercifully guided in building this beautiful nation--a nation indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. We pray humbly for all those men and women who with faith in you and their country gave themselves for our freedom. In memory of them, give us a passionate determination to be instruments of peace among the nations of the world. Let our hope today be America the beautiful, one nation under God.  Amen.**

God, we pause to acknowledge your presence here with us; to remember that your dream for us is an abundant life--a life that is filled with joy, love and peace. Lord, we are grateful for dedicated Americans who molded this nation into a land of the free and a home of the brave, a country for all people. Those who passed the torch of liberty to us invested much of themselves in personal sacrifice. They gave their energy to help neighbors build homes. They gave their food to feed those who lost employment. They gave their time to encourage the sick. They provided a place of rest to those who were homeless. Father, you have blessed us with much beyond the simple necessities of daily life. Grant us a clear vision of the needs of the poor. And help us to emulate our forefathers by sharing our wealth with those less fortunate than ourselves. In so doing, we pass on to others the hope of opportunity and the encouragement of a caring nation. May we know that it is in giving that we speak most clearly of our faith and patriotism. Bless us now and guard our country always.  Amen.**

Loving Father, we pause to ask your continued blessing upon America. You have given us this land as a trust. May we be worthy of our heritage and mindful of your favor. Through your guiding hand, we pray that you will enable us to carry out the responsibilities that are ours as those called to defend freedom and preserve peace. Grant we pray a special measure of your wisdom to our President and all who serve in positions of authority. Bless America and keep her strong.  Amen.**

Heavenly Father, in the beginning you created us to be free, to exercise the right of choice with all the responsibilities such privilege requires. We indeed are thankful for every blessing you have given us. Today, we are especially grateful for your love expressed through the freedom we enjoy as individuals and as a nation. Remember, Lord, those who sacrificed to make our independence a reality. Bless us as we strive to preserve the heritage they left us. May our efforts lead to peace among the nations of the world.  Amen.**

Lord, we thank you for America and for the virtues of democracy--virtues which ensure liberty and justice throughout the land. Our nation is one blessed with freedom and hope. Guide us in our efforts to live in peace. Spare us from attitudes which detract from our heritage. Affirm in us our dependence upon you and instill within us courage to serve you faithfully. Bless those who lead us with wisdom. May our efforts to defend liberty illumine the way of peace and bring happiness to all.  Amen.**
